Young Carers

Young Carers in Enfield

A Young Carer is a person under the age of 18 who helps to care for a family member who is disabled, is physically or mentally unwell, or misuses substances.

The Young Carers Project (EyPIC) provides support to children and young people aged 5 to 18 who are undertaking a caring role, and is based at the Enfield Carers Centre. Please go to the following website for more information about their support services and activities for Young Carers: https://enfieldcarers.org/young-carers/.

The project is still supporting Young Carers and their families in the borough during the current pandemic; it is now even more important than ever to identify Young Carers for appropriate support to be put in place.  If, as a parent, you wish to register your own child, please complete and submit the referral form on the Enfield Carers website www.enfieldcarers.org/refer-a-carer-to-ecc/.  For any enquiries regarding referrals you can call the service on 020 8366 3677 or email: info@enfieldcarers.org

Carers Week will take place from 8-14 June 2020 and is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring and recognise the contribution carers make to families and communities in the UK.  If you would like to become involved in Making Caring Visible, or would like more information, please go to www.carersweek.org/.
