School Dinners - The Pantry

Lunchtime Arrangements

School dinners are served in the dining hall and are supervised by our Lunchtime Supervisors.

School lunches are provided to the school by The Pantry.   For more information on The Pantry please click here.   Click here for information on how to set up your account with The Pantry.

We encourage pupils to show good manners and behave well during the meal.

Packed lunches must be placed in one plastic container, with the pupil’s name and class clearly written on it. Although we do all we can to help the children look after them, we cannot be held responsible for any losses.

Paying for School Meals

The cost of school meals is £2.52 per day (£12.60 per week).

We are a cashless school and do not accept cash payments.  You will be contacted by The Pantry regarding payments if you choose school dinners for your child.

The Pantry are unable to provide a meal if your child's account is not in credit.

Free School Meals

You are eligible to claim free school meals if you are in receipt of any of the following:

  • Income support
  • Income based job seekers allowance
  • Asylum seekers allowance
  • Child tax credit only and have an annual income of less than £16,190 or the guaranteed element of state pension credit

If you would like to apply for free school meals, please contact the school office to collect an application form or click here to download.

We have a number of Lunchtime Supervisors, whose job is to supervise the pupils at lunchtime, both in the dining hall and in the playground or on the field. The Lunchtime Supervisors work with the pupils to supervise and organise games for them to play. Pupils are expected to treat these people with respect, follow their instructions and report incidents of concern to them.

Pupils who persistently misbehave during the lunch break, will be given sufficient warning before having to spend a period of lunchtimes at home. You would be given at least 48 hours notice of this exclusion.

Packed Lunch for School Trips

If you are advised that your child’s class is going on a school trip which requires them to take a packed lunch and you wish to order this from The Pantry, options will be made available on the Parent Ordering System 2 weeks prior to the trip.  There will also be an option for an allergen free meal.  The packed lunch will consist of the main option, crudité, a cookie, fruit and a bottle of water.

If your child receives a free school meal, you will need to order from the options in the usual way to ensure your child receives their packed lunch.

Please note: the cut-off for orders will be 3 working days prior to the date of the trip.
